BURGLARY SUSPECTS ARRESTED - MAY 8, 2009

On Friday May 8, 2009 just after midnight a deputy from the Millard County Sheriffs Office was contacted by a concerned citizen who described suspicious activity near the Utah Territorial Statehouse in Fillmore.  The concerned citizen explained three persons had been observed shutting off power to lights around the Statehouse.  Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the area and began a search with the use of a canine service dog.  While searching the immediate area, it was determined somebody may be in "The Pod", a building near the Statehouse.  Deputies were able to locate a key to the building and a Statehouse official permitted entry into the building by Deputies. When the Deputies entered "The Pod", two male adults and one female juvenile were located inside the building.  18-year-old Erik Swan, 18-year-old Jeffery Ledford, and the female juvenile were arrested and transported to the Millard County Jail.  Swan and Ledford were booked into jail for suspicion of Burglary, Theft of Service, and Criminal Mischief among other charges.  The female juvenile was referred into Juvenile Court for related offenses.  The Millard County Sheriffs Office has been investigating other burglaries of businesses in this area and will continue to investigate to determine if those burglaries are related.
