COUNTERFEIT $20 BILLS – NOVEMBER 14, 2012

On the afternoon of November 14, 2012 the Millard County Sheriff’s Office was called to the Millard County Credit Union in Fillmore to investigate two counterfeit $20 bills. The two bills were taken at an unknown local business. The discrepancies on these $20 bills include; no security strips, no reflective sheen on the number 20 in the lower right hand corner, and no reflective sheen on the shield to the right of President Jackson’s picture. Sheriff Dekker asks all businesses and resident in Millard County to be on the look out for more of these counterfeit bills, in any denomination. It is unknown how many were passed in our area.

Con-artists are not always easy to spot. Smart, extremely persuasive, and aggressive, they invade your home through the telephone and the mail, advertise in reputable newspapers and magazines, and come to your door.
