On the morning of February 20, 2013, the Millard County Sheriff’s Office took a report at a local Delta business of a young woman trying to cash a stolen check. Store employees were suspicious and did not cash the check. The woman was gone when the deputy arrived. Later in the day, deputies returned to the business when it was reported that the same woman and a friend were in the store again attempting to cash a check. McKenna Blackburn of Delta and Alexa Pearson of Orem were arrested.

The investigation continued late into the night with three search warrants being served on a car and a house. Blackburn and Pearson were booked into the Millard County Jail on charges related to the check. Pearson was also charged with Possession of Heroin and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

On February 22 a deputy transported Devin Graham Young from the Salt Lake Jail to the Millard County Jail. Young was booked in with multiple felony and misdemeanor charges relating to the stolen checks as well as a credit card fraud case reported earlier.

Safe Tip

Think carefully before buying a firearm for protection. Guns can be stolen and sold to anyone, or captured and used on you or the police. If you do own a gun, keep it locked up with the ammunition secured separately and learn how to use it safely.
