NOTCH PEAK BASE JUMPER DIES IN ACCIDENT-APRIL 28, 2013

On April 28, 2013 about mid day, 35 year old Fernando Motta and two friends base jumped from NotchPeak. Fernando did not get enough lift and was not able to clear the cliffs. He died on impact. Motta’s body was located Sunday evening by Life Flight but was not able to be recovered due to wind conditions. Motta’s body was recovered by Millard County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue and the Department of Public Safety helicopter on Monday. Motta was described by his friends as a professional climber and jumper.

 

Safe Tip

Do not store valuables in your car, even in the trunk. Please lock your car and take your keys with you. Even though it is tempting to run your vehicle in the cold mornings, an unattended vehicle is an open invitation to a thief.
