ROAD RAGE INCIDENT RESULTS IN ARREST-JUNE 28, 2013

On the afternoon of June 28, 2013, the Millard County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a road rage incident that occurred on I-15 beginning in Beaver County and continuing north into Millard County. The victims reported that as they traveled northbound, the driver of the other vehicle waved a gun at them. The victims pulled off of the Interstate at the north end of Fillmore and stopped on the side of the road. The suspect stopped next to them and pointed a hand gun at them, and then drove away. Sheriff’s Deputies and Utah Highway Troopers searched for the suspect vehicle. It was located in the McCornick area on State Route 50. Monte Ray Lutz, age 49,of Virgin, Utah was arrested for Aggravated Assault, a Third Degree Felony, and booked into the Millard County Jail. Deputies obtained a search warrant to search Lutz’ truck and during the search, a handgun matching the description given by the victim was recovered.
