Tuesday, 16 July 2013 11:42

On July 13, 2013 the Millard County Sheriff’s Office received a report that an 83 year old Delta man was missing.  The family of Dee Ray Humphries reported Mr. Humphries had left home sometime during the previous several days and was believed to be en route to California.  It was reported that he normally would contact his daughter in Stockton, California on such a trip.  He has not made that contact.  Through the investigation, it was learned that Mr. Humphries withdrew money from a bank in Stockton, California on June 28, 2013.  That is the last known contact with him.  Mr. Humphries is reported to suffer from some dementia.  He is driving a red 2004 Toyota Corolla with Utah handicap license plate C207C.

The Stockton City Police Department is investigating this case in California.  The Millard County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate in Utah.  Sheriff Robert Dekker asks if you have information that would aid in the investigation that you call the Millard County Sheriff’s Office at 435-743-5302 or 435-864-2755.

Safe Tip

Con-artists are not always easy to spot. Smart, extremely persuasive, and aggressive, they invade your home through the telephone and the mail, advertise in reputable newspapers and magazines, and come to your door. Most people think they’re too smart to fall for a scam. But con artists rob all kinds of people from investment counselors and doctors to teenagers and elderly widows of billions every year. It’s up to you to say NO. Use common sense and learn about old and new scams.
