On Sunday, August 11, 2013 deputies with the Millard County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an attempted burglary at a Delta pharmacy that had occurred the previous night.  Upon arrival, the deputy found two area residents at the store waiting for the pharmacist to fill a prescription.  Because of irregularities with the prescription form, the pharmacist refused to fill it, and the two left.  Evidence gathered at the store pointed to the same two people as the suspects in the burglary attempt.

While that case was being investigated, deputies were called to another pharmacy where the same two people were trying to fill the same prescription.  Again it was denied.  The investigation continued, and on August 12, 2013 a search warrant was served on a truck belonging to one of the suspects, and evidence was recovered.

Chance Furrow, age 29, and Chasity Dutson, age 26, both of Hinckley, were arrested for Attempted Burglary and Prescription Fraud. They were both booked into the Millard County Jail.

Safe Tip

Con-artists are not always easy to spot. Smart, extremely persuasive, and aggressive, they invade your home through the telephone and the mail, advertise in reputable newspapers and magazines, and come to your door. Most people think they’re too smart to fall for a scam. But con artists rob all kinds of people from investment counselors and doctors to teenagers and elderly widows of billions every year. It’s up to you to say NO. Use common sense and learn about old and new scams.
