ARRESTS IN ARMED ROBBERY COLD CASE IN SCIPIO - DECEMBER 29, 2008

Arrests have been made in the matter of an armed robbery that occurred in Scipio, Utah on 01/19/2008 at the Sunmart Texaco. On that date, two disguised and armed suspects entered the store and held the clerk at gunpoint while demanding money. The suspects fled and were unidentified until recently when an informant came forth with information.

Douglas E. Garlick (19) of Mona, Utah and Dominick Jon Palmer (21) of Nephi, Utah were arrested by warrant after information was developed to the probable cause for their arrests. Garlick is presently in the Juab County Jail under charges of First Degree Felony Aggravated Robbery, and Third Degree Felony Possession of a Dangerous Weapon by a Restricted Person. Palmer was arrested and booked into the Millard County Jail for First Degree Felony Aggravated Robbery.

Anyone with further information about this case (54201) or suspects is encouraged to contact detectives with the Millard County Sheriff’s Office. The investigation is ongoing.

ORIGINAL PRESS RELEASE
The Millard County Sheriff's Office is requesting assistance from the public regarding a strong-arm robbery that occurred at the Scipio SunMart on January 19, 2008 at approximately 8:26 PM. Two male subjects had entered the store and robbed it of an undisclosed amount of money. One of the subjects is described as about 5'7" tall, 150 pounds, Caucasian, and wearing a bandana and brandishing a gun. The other subject is approximately 5'10", 180 pounds, and was wearing a full ski mask and gloves. Hang up immediately on obscene callers or strangers who ask questions regarding private matters. Many such callers are merely seeking an emotional response and will discontinue their harassment if you avoid a reaction of fear or anger. Chronic harassing phone calls should be reported to the Sheriff's Office.
