RESCUE FROM WHITE PINE PEAK - OCTOBER 29, 2013

On the Sunday October 27, 2013, at about 7:30 PM, 25-year-old Jace Jensen of Fillmore telephoned the Millard County Sheriff’s Dispatch and reported that he was in the White Pine Peak area above Meadow. He had become separated from his friends, and was lost. Search and Rescue units from Millard and Sevier Counties were sent to the area, along with a helicopter from the Utah Department of Public Safety. A little before 10:00 PM Jensen was located by the helicopter. He was air lifted off of the mountain and taken to an area hospital in good condition.

Con-artists are not always easy to spot. Smart, extremely persuasive, and aggressive, they invade your home through the telephone and the mail, advertise in reputable newspapers and magazines, and come to your door. Most people think they’re too smart to fall for a scam. But con artists rob all kinds of people from investment counselors and doctors to teenagers and elderly widows of billions every year. It’s up to you to say NO. Use common sense and learn about old and new scams.
