When Calling 9-1-1
Tuesday, 27 May 2008 00:14
When you call 9-1-1, stay on the line with the dispatcher until you are told by him or her to hang up. Your assistance may be required to guide deputies and other emergency personnel to your location.

Safe Tip

If you hear a noise that sounds like someone breaking in or moving around, quietly call 9-1-1 and wait calmly until the Sheriff's Deputies arrive. If you can leave safely, do so. Otherwise, lock yourself in the room you are in, and pretend to be asleep.
