Tuesday, 03 December 2013 14:42

During the early morning hours of November 29, 2013, deputies with the Millard County Sheriff’s Office responded to an alarm at Service Drug in Fillmore.  The suspect had made entry through a back door.  While a deputy was at the back door and others were responding, the suspect was able to escape through the front door.  The suspect’s car was parked near the rear of the business, and was seized as evidence.

Millard County Sheriff’s deputies, Sheriff’s Search and Rescue, and Utah Highway Patrol Troopers searched the Fillmore area for several hours.  Brody Greg Boyer, age 36, of Ogden was located and arrested.  Boyer was booked into the Millard County Jail on multiple charges including burglary and theft.

Prior to Boyer’s arrest, his sister, Brooke Nicole Barraza traveled from Ogden to Fillmore in an attempt to pick him up.  After a traffic stop for suspicious activity, Barraza was arrested and booked into jail for obstructing justice.

Safe Tip

Con-artists are not always easy to spot. Smart, extremely persuasive, and aggressive, they invade your home through the telephone and the mail, advertise in reputable newspapers and magazines, and come to your door. Most people think they’re too smart to fall for a scam. But con artists rob all kinds of people from investment counselors and doctors to teenagers and elderly widows of billions every year. It’s up to you to say NO. Use common sense and learn about old and new scams.
